RomHack

Code of Conduct

Our commitment is to all RomHack events participants: it is our intention to make RomHack an inclusive, welcoming and enjoyable place for everyone. Everyone attending RomHack events is expected to abide by this Code of Conduct (CoC), both during the events and online.

The goal of this CoC is to allow everyone to feel comfortable during RomHack events and have a memorable experience. Therefore, we have established a set of simple rules to clarify what behaviors can ruin the experience for participants and organizers, and consequently are not acceptable.

Be excellent with each other

The first and most important rule to keep in mind is this: be kind and tolerant to everyone.

Harassment of participants or discriminatory behaviour of any form will not be tolerated. Specifically:

  • Homophobic, racist, transphobic, sexist or any other type of biased behaviour will not be tolerated;
  • Stalking, unsolicited physical contact or unwanted sexual attention is considered harassment, and therefore will not be tolerated;
  • Harassment has no extenuating or valid justification of any kind: manner of dress or action does not in itself constitute consent;
  • If some participants do not want to be filmed or photographed, it is their right and everyone’s duty to respect this will;
  • Aggression and elitism are not in line with the spirit of RomHack and our community, so they are not welcome. We want to promote events where curiosity and exchange of information is always welcomed and encouraged.

If you break these rules, to protect other participants, we reserve the right to expel you from the events at any time, without refund.

Respect

We expect everyone to respect the place where RomHack is held. We will not tolerate any kind of vandalism.
